Lee Roy Selmon blends the merits of football scholarship in his home with volunteering in the community. In the first place, he was brought up by Lucious Semon and his wife Jessie, on the farm close to Eufala located in Oklahoma as one of their nine children. Also, he was one of three siblings who represented Oklahoma in football. All three of them were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey was a starter for the entire 1973 season. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award and the Lombardi award as the nation's best lineman. During his three years as the starting quarterback for Oklahoma, the Sooners went 32-1-1 and captured two national titles. In 1975, he received his third scholarship and was recognized as an National Football Foundation scholar-athlete. Selmon has a bachelor's degree in educational studies. Lee Roy's fourth service included ten hours per week in volunteer work during the college. After graduating, Lee Roy settled in Tampa and spent the next 9 years with the Buccaneers. Three times, he was named an All-Pro. Lee Roy began his professional career. He was an Account Relations Officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank and worked on the following groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute on the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. It was not a surprise when In 1982, The Junior Chamber of Commerce named Lee Roy as one of the 10 young stars throughout the United States. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265 pounds in the time he played football at college. He was a captain in 1975. led the team. In 1993, he became the assistant director of the University of South Florida. The College Football Hall of Fame was named for the player in 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame, in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame, in 1995. In 1989 the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded their Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma presented it.
